About Ben Nicky
Biography / Discography
Ben Nicky, born Benjamin Nikki Reginald Wederell, is a British disc jockey and electronic dance music producer from Bristol known for trance music and a fluid style spanning techno, hardstyle, and bounce. He began his DJ career in 2007 and gained early recognition when his 2011 track “The One,” co-produced with Cass Fox, was highlighted by Mixmag as a memorable tune. His work subsequently attracted attention from international trance pioneers including Paul van Dyk, Tiësto, and Armin van Buuren.
By 2012, Nicky was recognized as a rising star in the trance scene, including support slots for BBC Radio 1 DJ Dave Pearce at club nights. In 2013, he launched the Head F**k label to release mashup tracks. A 2016 DJ Mag review described him as a “future king” of trance. His prominence in the international scene was further established in May 2019 when he made his debut on BBC Radio 1’s Essential Mix, performing a two-hour live session. That same year, he received a nomination for a DJ Award in the Trance category.
Nicky has performed regularly at major electronic music festivals and club venues, including Belsonic and Creamfields.
