About Biffy Clyro
Biography / Discography
Biffy Clyro is a Scottish rock band formed in Kilmarnock in 1995. The core trio consists of Simon Neil on lead vocals and guitar, with twin brothers James Johnston on bass and Ben Johnston on drums, both providing backing vocals. During live performances, they are joined by touring musicians Mike Vennart on guitar and Richard “Gambler” Ingram on keyboards. Their music blends progressive rock, alternative rock, and indie rock, establishing them as a significant force in the modern rock landscape.
The band achieved major commercial success with their fourth studio album Puzzle (2007), which reached No. 2 on the UK Albums Chart and earned Platinum certification. Their fifth album Only Revolutions (2009) climbed to No. 3 in the UK and achieved double-platinum status, spawning hit singles including “Mountains” and “Many of Horror” that both reached the UK Top Ten. In 2013, their sixth album Opposites became their first UK chart-topper. Throughout their career, Biffy Clyro has garnered critical recognition including a Mercury Music Prize nomination, a Brit Award nomination for Best British Group, and an NME Award for Best British Band in 2013.
With ten studio albums including the recent release Futique (September 2025), Biffy Clyro remains an active presence in rock music, currently signed to 14th Floor Records and available to book for festivals, corporate events, and live performances.
