About Echosmith
Biography / Discography
Echosmith is an American indie pop band formed in February 2006 in Chino, California. Originally a quartet of siblings, the band now performs as a trio consisting of Sydney, Noah, and Graham, following the 2016 departure of eldest sibling Jamie. The group initially performed under the name Ready Set Go! before signing with Warner Bros. Records in May 2012. The band’s sound reflects influences from 1980s rock and alternative acts including Coldplay, U2, the Killers, and the Smiths.
Echosmith achieved mainstream success with their 2013 debut single “Cool Kids,” which peaked at number 13 on the Billboard Hot 100 and earned quadruple platinum certification from the RIAA. The track was Warner Bros. Records’ fifth-best-selling digital song of 2014 with 1.3 million downloads sold. Their debut studio album, Talking Dreams (October 2013), entered the Billboard 200 and produced the top 40 single “Bright.”
Beyond their initial breakthrough, Echosmith performed at consecutive Vans Warped Tours (2013–2014) and supported touring acts including Twenty One Pilots (2015) and Pentatonix (2018). The band released the EP Inside a Dream (2017) and their second studio album, Lonely Generation (2020), followed by a self-titled third album, Echosmith (2023). The group performs at festivals, touring venues, and corporate events.
