About Eva Simons
Biography / Discography
Eva Maria Simons is a Dutch singer-songwriter, music video director, and electronic music producer from Amsterdam. She is best known for her collaboration with Afrojack on Take Over Control (2010), a dance hit that spent six weeks on the Billboard Top Dance Airplay chart and achieved platinum certification in Australia, and for her featured vocals on will.i.am’s This Is Love (2012), which reached number one in the UK and multiple other countries.
Simons graduated from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam and began her professional career in the mid-2000s as a member of Raffish (2004-2005) after competing in Popstars The Rivals. In 2009, her Silly Boy demo went viral on YouTube with over 4 million views. The 2010 release Take Over Control marked her major breakthrough as a solo artist. Following this success, collaborations with LMFAO and will.i.am in 2011-2012 further established her internationally. She received a BMI Songwriting Award in 2012 and supported Beyoncé on The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour in the Netherlands.
Since 2012, Simons has maintained an active recording and touring schedule, releasing original music across dance, dancehall, and electronic genres with notable singles including Policeman (2015) and Bludfire (2015, featuring Sidney Samson).
