About Gazebo
Biography / Discography
Gazebo is the professional name of Paul Mazzolini, an Italian vocalist, songwriter, musician and record producer whose career took flight during the 1980s synth-pop and Italo disco era. Born in Beirut on 18 February 1960, he spent his formative years across Lebanon, Jordan, Denmark and France, gaining musical experience in cities including London. He adopted the stage name “Gazebo” for its memorable, catchy quality.
His commercial success crystallized in the early 1980s. His debut single “Masterpiece” (1982) achieved significant traction on European charts, while “I Like Chopin” (1983) became a defining hit of the era, selling 8 million copies and topping charts in more than 15 nations including Italy, Germany, Spain and Austria. The same year, his third major release “Lunatic” charted across Europe, Asia and Latin America. During this prolific period, Mazzolini worked closely with producer Pierluigi Giombini and contributed to the production “Dolce Vita,” recorded by singer Ryan Paris.
Gazebo has maintained an active touring schedule and continued recording throughout subsequent decades. In addition to his work as a performer and songwriter, he has taken on roles as a music producer and soundtrack contributor, including an acting appearance in the 2014 film Sexy Shop. His legacy as a synthesizer-driven pop innovator from the 1980s remains recognized across European and international music communities.
