About Giolì & Assia
Biography / Discography
Giolì & Assia are an Italian female electronic duo from Palermo, formed in 2016. Giolì handles keyboards, cello, drums, guitar, and handpan, while Assia provides vocals and guitar across performances in English, Italian, French, and Spanish. The duo is recognized for their melodic techno production and distinctive live approach merging electronic beats with acoustic and traditional instruments.
The project began recording in 2017 with the single ‘Stay Closer’, leading to their debut album ‘Istantanee’ in 2018. Subsequent releases include ‘Night Experience’ (2018), ‘Moon Faces EP’ (2021), ‘Fire, Hell and Holy Water’ (2022), and ‘Resurrection (Act 1)’ (2024). A 2018 collaboration with Spinnin’ Records on ‘Something Special’ led to performances at major venues including the Privilege nightclub in Ibiza. They have performed at prestigious festivals including Coachella, Hard Summer, CRSSD, Electric Forest, and Lollapalooza.
Giolì & Assia co-own the independent label Diesis Records and created the #DiesisLive series in 2019, a live-streaming project capturing performances of their electronic and acoustic fusion at landmark locations across Sicily, including Mount Etna and the Aeolian Islands.
