About Jillionaire
Biography / Discography
Christopher Leacock, professionally known as Jillionaire, is a Trinidadian DJ and music producer born in Port of Spain on 3 April 1978. He is best known for his work as a member of Major Lazer, the American electronic music group founded by Diplo. Jillionaire joined Major Lazer in 2011 alongside Walshy Fire, replacing co-founder Switch. During his eight-year tenure, the group released three major projects: the studio albums Free the Universe and Apocalypse Soon, and the EP Peace Is the Mission.
Jillionaire is recognized for developing a distinctive sonic signature that fuses indie dance and big room house with Caribbean rhythms, particularly dancehall and soca influences. Beyond Major Lazer, he has released collaborative and solo work, including the 2014 EP Fresh with producer Salvatore Ganacci on Universal Music, and the 2017 single Sunrise. He has also been featured on tracks with other artists including SAARA, Oryane, and Swick, and maintains an active presence on SoundCloud with original productions and remixes.
Jillionaire departed Major Lazer in June 2019 to pursue independent projects, while continuing to perform and produce music drawing on his signature blend of electronic and Caribbean sounds. He has performed at major music festivals including New Zealand’s WOMAD Festival in 2010.
