John Mayer is an American blues rock and pop rock singer-songwriter born in Bridgeport, Connecticut in 1977. He emerged as a major force in popular music during the early 2000s, renowned for his technical mastery of the guitar and his ability to blend blues, soul, and rock influences into commercially successful and artistically credible work.
Mayer’s breakthrough came with his debut album Room for Squares (2001), followed by Heavier Things (2003) and Continuum (2006), which established him as both a radio-friendly pop artist and a serious blues guitarist. His discography includes Born and Dying (2012), Paradise Valley (2013), and The Search for Everything (2017). He has received multiple Grammy Awards and Grammy nominations across both pop and blues categories, reflecting his dual appeal to mainstream and blues audiences.
