About Matthias Tanzmann
Biography / Discography
Matthias Tanzmann is a German electronic music DJ and producer born in 1977 in Leipzig. Beginning his career in the mid-1990s at Leipzig’s Distillery club, Tanzmann established himself as both a performer and label entrepreneur. In 2000, he founded Moon Harbour Recordings, a label that became known for releasing quality deep house and tech house productions from artists including Luna City Express, Marlow, and Dan Drastic.
Tanzmann’s production work extends beyond his label operations. His 2006 solo album Restless, released on Moon Harbour, showcased his abilities as a recording artist. He has also remixed extensively for established electronic music figures including Moby, Josh Wink, and Booka Shade. His DJing career expanded globally with a residency beginning in 2007 at Circoloco at DC10 in Ibiza, one of the world’s most prestigious nightclub venues, which led to three consecutive nominations at the Ibiza DJ Awards.
Tanzmann later expanded his label portfolio by founding Cargo Edition in 2006, further establishing his influence in the electronic music industry. He is available to book for festivals, clubs, private events, and touring engagements.
