About Mauro Picotto
Biography / Discography
Mauro Picotto is an Italian electronic music producer and DJ born on 25 December 1966 in Cavour, Italy. He rose to prominence in the 1990s as a founding member of the Euro house group R.A.F., which achieved international chart success with tracks including “We Gonna Get” and “We’ve Got to Live Together.” As a solo artist, Picotto gained wider recognition in 1998 with the release of “Lizard (Gonna Get You),” followed by “Iguana” and “Komodo (Save a Soul),” which reached number 13 on the UK Singles Chart—his highest solo chart position. His work has been characterized by trance and electronic dance music production.
Throughout his career, Picotto has collaborated with prominent electronic music artists including Tiësto and Mario Più. Under the pseudonym CRW, he produced “I Feel Love,” which charted at number 15 in the UK in 2000. Picotto also achieved chart success as a remixer and producer on tracks by other artists, including “Communication (Somebody Answer the Phone)” with Mario Più, which reached the UK top 5 in 1999, and a remix of “On the Beach” by York that reached the UK top 5 in 2000.
Since leaving Media Records in 2002, Picotto has founded his own record labels Bakerloo Music and Alchemy. He established the Meganite club night event, which launched in Miami at the Winter Music Conference in 2002 and relocated to Privilege Ibiza, running weekly residencies from 2004 onwards. Picotto released numerous compilations and studio albums including The Double Album (2000) and The Others (2002), and in 2017 released the album A Call in the Club.
