About Parallx
Biography / Discography
Parallx is the stage name of Jonas Wedelstädt, an industrial techno and hard techno producer and DJ from the Ruhr region of West Germany. Born and raised in the industrial Ruhr Metropolis, Wedelstädt relocated to Berlin in 2010 and launched his Parallx project in 2013, drawing creative inspiration from the harsh industrial landscapes of his hometown. His sound synthesizes EBM, 1990s techno, and early 2000s club music with darkwave and synth-pop elements, producing dense, percussive compositions designed for the dancefloor.
Wedelstädt released his debut Parallx works in 2015 with MOD004 on Modul Recordings, followed by subsequent projects including Lost in Time (2017, Arts) and RR1 (2018, R – Label Group), the latter released through an invitation from Berghain resident Kobosil. In 2017, he was voted #3 Newcomer of the Year by Groove Magazine, and made his debut performance at the legendary Berlin club Berghain in January 2018. He holds residencies at Berlin venues RSO (formerly Griessmuehle) and SYNOID, and has released recent work including the P0X project on his own ĪSARN imprint, established in 2023.
