About Shugz
Biography / Discography
Shugz, born Christopher Kirkpatrick, is a DJ and producer from Belfast, Northern Ireland, who has become a recognised figure in the international trance and hard techno scenes. Known for his technical proficiency at the turntables, including distinctive three-deck setups with scratching and layered effects, Shugz combines high-energy mixing with electrifying production work across trance, hard trance, and contemporary electronic music genres.
In 2023, Shugz produced 38 original tracks and accumulated approximately 8 million Soundcloud streams, with consistent chart placements including a top-three position on the All Music Chart. His remix of Bryan Kearney’s ‘Mexican Rave’ for Who’s Afraid Of 138?! gained significant traction within the trance community. In early 2024, he secured a multi-track record deal with Columbia Records/Room Two, joining a roster that includes major artists such as Calvin Harris and Adele. The deal has positioned him alongside established names for remix work from artists including MK, Rita Ora, and Joel Corry.
Shugz has performed extensively across international festivals and venues, including appearances at Luminosity Beach Festival (2023–2025), Creamfields, Planet Love Belfast, and Feile an Phobail. His residency series ‘Kill Your Idols’ at The Telegraph Building in Belfast achieved six consecutive sold-out shows. With performances in over 20 countries within a 12-month period, Shugz maintains an active touring schedule and is available for festival bookings, corporate events, and private shows.
