About Temples
Biography / Discography
Temples are an English psychedelic rock band formed in Kettering in 2012 by singer-guitarist James Bagshaw and bassist Tom Walmsley. Completed by keyboardist Adam Smith and drummer Rens Ottink, the band is known for psychedelic and neo-psychedelic rock characterized by synthesizers, melodic guitar work, and Bagshaw’s distinctive vocals.
The band gained attention after uploading self-produced tracks to YouTube, leading to their debut single Shelter Song in November 2012. Their debut album Sun Structures, released in February 2014, reached number seven on the UK Albums Chart. International tours and television appearances followed, including performances on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2014.
Temples released their second studio album Volcano in March 2017, charting at number 23 in the UK. After original drummer Samuel Toms’ departure in 2018, the band signed to ATO Records and released their third album Hot Motion in September 2019, followed by Exotico in April 2023. The group is available to book for festivals, corporate events, and private shows.
