About Tom Novy
Biography / Discography
Tom Novy, born Thomas Reichold on 10 March 1970, is a German DJ and producer from Munich known for his contributions to progressive house and garage house music. He established himself as a key figure in the European electronic music scene beginning in the 1980s.
Novy began DJing in the mid-1980s, securing his first residency at the Babalu Club in Munich. He launched his production career in 1994 with his debut release “I House U” on the Munich-based label Kosmo Records, a cover of the Jungle Brothers’ “I’ll House You” featuring his own lyrics. Initially working in European-flavoured progressive house, he later transitioned to a Chicago-influenced garage house sound, typically featuring vocal elements.
Beyond studio production, Novy has appeared as a DJ and host on major European television platforms, including MTV Germany and VIVA, where he hosted programs such as Dance Floor Charts, Streetlife, Battle of DJ’s, and Nightlife. He has collaborated extensively with other artists under various project names and aliases, contributing remixes and original productions to the broader house music ecosystem.
