Wassu is the stage name of Weston Daniel Butler, a solo electronic music producer and DJ based in New York. He is recognized as a key figure in New York’s organic house scene, crafting deep house and progressive house productions distinguished by lush atmospheric soundscapes, melodic sophistication, and hypnotic grooves. His work has earned support from prominent tastemakers including Above & Beyond, Marsh, Guy Mantzur, Lee Burridge, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, and Tim Green.
Wassu’s releases have appeared on notable labels including Anjunadeep, All Day I Dream, Silk Music, TOR, Warung Recordings, Poesie Musik, and Where The Heart Is. His discography includes the extended play Lost (2020) and the Dusk EP (2023), among other collaborative and solo works that showcase his progressive approach to melodic house and organic house production. Significant collaborations include ‘Like You’ with Marsh, which blends his deep grooves with Marsh’s ambient and melodic sensibilities.
