Thirty Seconds to Mars, commonly stylized as 30 Seconds to Mars, is an American alternative rock band formed in Los Angeles in 1998. The group consists of brothers Jared Leto (lead vocals, guitar, bass, keyboards) and Shannon Leto (drums, percussion), with Tomo Milicevic (lead guitar, bass, violin, keyboards) as a core member. The band is known for energetic live performances, philosophical and spiritual lyrics, and fusion of rock with experimental and electronic elements.
The band’s debut album, 30 Seconds to Mars (2002), was produced by Bob Ezrin and launched their career. They achieved worldwide acclaim with their second album, A Beautiful Lie (2005), which earned international certifications. This Is War (2009) showcased the band’s experimental evolution, followed by Love, Lust, Faith and Dreams (2013) under Universal Music. Recent releases include America (2018) and It’s the End of the World but It’s a Beautiful Day (2023).
