About Emily Burns
Biography / Discography
Emily Burns (born 22 September 1994) is a British singer-songwriter from the United Kingdom. Her synth-pop sound draws influence from artists such as Tove Lo, Kehlani, Sigrid, and Banks. She released her debut studio album Die Happy in November 2024.
Burns began her music career in her teens, entering the Live and Unsigned competition in 2010 and reaching the final to perform at the indigO2. She attended a masterclass at Abbey Road Studios and was signed to Cave Productions, releasing the single “Plasters, Glitter and Glue,” which was later playlisted on BBC Radio 1. Throughout the early 2010s, she performed at numerous festivals and venues including Secret Garden Party and T in the Park, where she performed on the BBC introducing stage in 2013.
After signing to 37 Adventures in July 2017, Burns released singles including “Bitch” (2018) and “Girlfriend at the Time” (2018), followed by her first mini-album Seven Scenes from the Same Summer in July 2018. She signed to Island Records and released multiple EPs including PDA and My Town in 2019, and I Love You, You’re the Worst in 2020. Burns later signed to SO Recordings and Silva Screen Records in 2023, releasing singles “Balcony Floor” and “Cheating on Her” before concluding with her album debut in late 2024.
