About Everlast
Biography / Discography
Everlast, born Erik Francis Schrody and also known by the alias Whitey Ford, is an American rapper and singer-songwriter from Valley Stream, New York. He first rose to prominence as the frontman of the hip hop group House of Pain in the early 1990s before launching a solo career that fuses hip-hop with rock, blues, folk, and Americana.
His solo breakthrough came with the 1998 album Whitey Ford Sings the Blues, which reached number 9 on the Billboard 200 and produced the hit single “What It’s Like,” a top-20 entry on the Billboard Hot 100 that earned him a Grammy Award nomination. In 2000, he won a Grammy Award for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal for his collaboration with Santana. He went on to release a total of eight solo studio albums, most recently Whitey Ford’s House of Pain in 2018.
Beyond his solo catalog, Everlast was a member of the hip hop supergroup La Coka Nostra from 2006 to 2012, and in 2008 he received an Emmy Award nomination for composing the main title theme of the television series Saving Grace. He is available to book for festivals, corporate events and private shows.
