About Gryffin
Biography / Discography
Gryffin is the professional name of Daniel (Dan) Griffith, an American DJ, music producer, and melodic house specialist born September 29, 1987, in San Francisco, California. He is known for blending electronic production with organic instruments like piano and guitar, creating emotionally resonant dance music that has earned him widespread recognition in the electronic and dance music communities. His career began as part of the White Panda mashup project with childhood friend Tom Evans before he launched his official Gryffin project in 2015.
Under the White Panda moniker, Griffith and his collaborators built a substantial following through national tours and performances at major festivals including Lolapalooza and Firefly Music Festival. He formally studied electrical engineering at the University of Southern California while honing his skills as a classically trained pianist and guitarist. Griffith’s breakthrough as Gryffin came through high-profile remix work on tracks by established artists including Tove Lo, Maroon 5, and Years & Years, establishing him as a notable figure in contemporary music production.
His original compositions have achieved significant chart success, including “Heading Home” (2016) featuring Josef Salvat, which reached number 22 on the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart, and “Remember” (2018) with Zohara, his first number-one US Dance Charts hit.
