Biography / Discography
M.O is a British girl group formed in 2012 by Annie Ashcroft and Chanal Benjilali, whose name stands for “Modus Operandi.” The ensemble specializes in contemporary pop influenced by 1990s urban artists including TLC, Aaliyah, J.Lo, and All Saints. Originally based in the independent music scene, M.O signed with Polydor Records in 2015 and later with Interscope Records.
The group debuted in 2012 with a SB.TV remix earning Ed Sheeran’s praise, followed by their debut single “For a Minute” in 2014. M.O achieved peak commercial success with “Who Do You Think Of?” reaching the UK top 20 in 2016. Their discography includes EPs such as Good Friends, Modus Operandi (2020), and singles including “Dance on My Own” (UK #49), “Not in Love” (UK #42), and “Bad Vibe” (UK #18). The group released “U No” in 2021 and continues to record and perform.
