About Mauro
Biography / Discography
Mauro, professionally known as Mauro Spessot, is an Italian disco and pop vocalist born in 1960 in Trieste. Coming from a musical family—his father was an accomplished opera singer—Mauro developed his singing talent from an early age. He began his professional music career in the early 1980s, initially performing with disco and pop bands including Electric Sun, Harley, and the disco formation Mauro & Control Competition, where he earned early credits and chart recognition.
His breakthrough came in July 1987 when his signature single ‘Buona Sera – Ciao Ciao’ was released in Germany, establishing him as a notable figure in the 1980s disco-pop scene. The track became a chart hit across Europe, and Mauro continued to perform and record throughout the 1990s and 2000s. In 2007, capitalizing on renewed interest in 1980s music, he recorded a modern party version remix of ‘Buona Sera – Ciao Ciao’, which was featured on the compilation album ‘Goldstrand Hits 2007’. His most recent studio release, ‘Buona Sera Dolce Vita’, came in 2017. Available to book for festivals, corporate events, and private shows.
