About Panic! at the Disco
Biography / Discography
Panic! at the Disco was an American pop rock band formed in Las Vegas, Nevada, in 2004 by high school friends Ryan Ross (guitar, vocals), Spencer Smith (drums), Brendon Urie (vocals, guitar), and Brent Wilson (bass). The band achieved immediate mainstream success with their debut album A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out (2005), driven by the diamond-certified single “I Write Sins Not Tragedies,” which propelled the quadruple-platinum debut to international recognition.
Following the departure of Ross and Walker in 2009, the band reformed through multiple lineup iterations while maintaining theatrical live performances as their signature. Panic! released seven studio albums across their 19-year career: Pretty. Odd. (2008), Vices & Virtues (2011), Too Weird to Live, Too Rare to Die! (2013), Death of a Bachelor (2016), Pray for the Wicked (2018), and Viva Las Vengeance (2022). The 2018 album Pray for the Wicked featured “High Hopes,” which became their highest-charting single at number 4 on the Billboard Hot 100. From 2015 onward, Brendon Urie operated the project as a solo act while retaining the band name.
The band disbanded in March 2023 following the conclusion of the Viva Las Vengeance Tour. Panic! at the Disco was available for festival, corporate, and touring engagements until their official dissolution.
