About Smack One
Biography / Discography
Smack One, also known simply as Smack, is the stage name of Jakub Janeček, a Czech rapper, DJ and producer born June 7, 1986, in Prague. He is credited as the first grime rapper in the Czech Republic, a reputation built through his early collaboration with the group Iscream Boyz, and he has since worked across grime, hip-hop and electronic production.
Smack One founded the record label Archetyp 51 and has won the Anděl Award, one of the Czech Republic’s leading music honors, three times in the Rap category. His discography includes the album End 2 End, released as his final full-length rap project. In September 2024 he announced his retirement from rap music, stating he would continue making music under a grime and electronic-music identity rather than as a traditional rapper. That same month he performed a retrospective farewell concert, Smack One Presents – Mezcal, at Prague’s exhibition grounds. In November 2024 he announced a collaborative EP with British grime MC P Money.
