About Strapo
Biography / Discography
Strapo, born Jan Strapec on March 10, 1989, in Trnava, is a Slovak hip-hop artist and freestyle rapper. He first gained national recognition as a two-time winner of Artattack Freestyle Battle, Slovakia’s leading freestyle rap competition, with his first title coming in 2006.
He began his recorded discography with the EP MC in 2007, followed by the mixtape 50:50 in 2008 made in collaboration with producer DJ Spinhandz. His 2012 studio album 23, produced with Emeres, went on to receive a gold certification in 2013 and earned him two nominations at the Radio_Head Awards that year.
Strapo continued releasing music independently through his own label, White Trash, putting out the album Versus in September 2015 and POSCHOD13 in April 2018. Across these releases he has established himself as one of the established names in Slovak-language hip hop, drawing on his freestyle-battle roots. Strapo is available to book for festivals, corporate events and private shows.
