About Years and Years
Biography / Discography
Years & Years were an English electropop band formed in London in 2010. The group rose to international prominence with their debut studio album Communion (2015), which debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart. Their lead single King topped the UK Singles Chart and reached the top ten in thirteen other regions, while Shine reached number two in the UK, establishing the band as a major force in contemporary pop music.
The band’s second album Palo Santo was released in July 2018 and reached the UK top ten, featuring singles Sanctify and If You’re Over Me. In March 2021, Years & Years announced a transition to frontman Olly Alexander’s solo project format. The third album Night Call was released in January 2022, debuting at number one in the UK. During their career, the band earned six Brit Award nominations and received numerous accolades including Sound of 2015 Award and British LGBT Award. The band disbanded in 2023 when Alexander discontinued the Years & Years name.
