About Ying Yang Twins
Biography / Discography
Ying Yang Twins, also known as Ying Yang Twinz, is a hip-hop duo from Atlanta, Georgia, comprising members Kaine (Eric Jackson) and D-Roc (Deongelo Holmes). Formed in 2000, the group became central figures in the crunk and snap music movements of the early 2000s. Despite their name, the members are not twins or blood relatives. Their breakthrough came in 2003 with collaborations on Britney Spears’ album In the Zone and most notably with producer Lil Jon on the platinum single Get Low, which became a defining anthem of the era.
The duo released their debut album Me & My Brother in 2003 on TVT Records, achieving platinum certification by April 2005. Their subsequent discography includes Thug Walkin’ (2000), U.S.A. (United State of Atlanta) (2005), Chemically Imbalanced (2006), and Ying Yang Forever (2009). Hit singles such as Salt Shaker, Wait (The Whisper Song), Shake, and Halftime (Stand Up and Get Crunk) established them as influential voices in Southern hip-hop. The track Halftime became a staple in NFL stadiums across the United States, demonstrating their crossover appeal beyond hip-hop audiences.
