About Kontrafakt
Biography / Discography
Kontrafakt is a Slovak hip-hop group formed in 2001 by Rytmus, Ego, and DJ Anys. The trio has become one of the most commercially successful acts in Slovak hip-hop, with a career spanning two decades and five studio albums. Their third album, Navždy (2013), was certified as the highest-selling album in Slovakia that year by SOZA, Slovakia’s music rights organization.
The group released their debut album E.R.A. in 2004, followed by Bozk na rozlúčku in 2007. After a six-year hiatus, Navždy marked their return in 2013. In 2019, they released Real Newz, which featured expanded collaborations including Dalyb, Samey, Zayo, and Viktor Sheen. Their 2020 music video “Ideme dnu” (We Go In) was nominated for Best Cinematography at the Berlin Music Video Awards, directed by cinematographer Radim Strelka. The group continued with the album KF ako Rolls in 2021.
