About Limahl
Biography / Discography
Christopher Hamill, known professionally as Limahl, is an English pop and synthpop singer born in Wigan, Lancashire. He rose to prominence as the lead vocalist of the pop band Kajagoogoo from 1982, before launching a solo career marked by international success with the 1984 hit “The NeverEnding Story”, which became a Top 5 chart entry in multiple countries and number 1 in Spain, Sweden, and Norway.
Under production by Duran Duran keyboardist Nick Rhodes, Kajagoogoo’s 1983 debut single “Too Shy” reached number 1 in the UK and the top 5 of the US Billboard Hot 100. The band achieved further hits with “Ooh to Be Ah” (UK No. 7) and “Hang on Now” (UK No. 13), with their debut album White Feathers reaching UK number 5. Limahl departed Kajagoogoo in mid-1983 to pursue his solo direction.
Limahl’s solo career included three studio albums: Don’t Suppose (1984), Colour All My Days (1986), and Love Is Blind (1992), achieving particular commercial success in continental Europe. He reunited with Kajagoogoo in 2008 in their original five-piece line-up, and has since maintained an active touring schedule focusing on 1980s retro performances and festival appearances across Europe, Australia, and the United States.
