About Lutricia McNeal
Biography / Discography
Lutricia McNeal is an American soul and pop vocalist born in Oklahoma City on November 27, 1973. Known for her international commercial success during the 1990s, McNeal achieved widespread recognition particularly across European and UK charts through her distinctive vocal delivery and contemporary soul-pop style.
McNeal’s breakthrough came through a cover version of “Ain’t That Just the Way,” which sold approximately two million copies worldwide and established her as a significant commercial artist. Her debut album My Side of Town (1994) generated multiple hits, including “Stranded” and “Someone Loves You Honey,” with the title track reaching platinum status and number one on the New Zealand charts. She secured three Top 10 hit singles on the UK charts and collaborated extensively with Swedish producers, including Rob’n’Raz, particularly on the 1993 track “In Command” which achieved top chart status in Sweden.
McNeal’s subsequent releases included the album Whatcha Been Doing (1999) and mid-2000s singles such as “It’s Not Easy” and “Best Of Times” (which reached number six on Swedish charts). In 2011 she released “You Make Me Feel Good,” while compilation albums including Greatest Hits (2004) and Complete Best (2010) document her sustained recording career.
