About Right Said Fred
Biography / Discography
Right Said Fred is an English pop duo formed in 1989 in East Grinstead, England, by brothers Fred and Richard Fairbrass. The act became a fixture of early-1990s dance-pop and novelty pop, best known worldwide for the single I’m Too Sexy.
Released in July 1991 on Tug Records, I’m Too Sexy reached number two in the UK and topped the charts in more than 30 countries, including the United States, and received an Ivor Novello Award nomination. The group’s debut album, Up, went multi-platinum and reached number one on the UK Albums Chart. Follow-up singles Don’t Talk Just Kiss and Deeply Dippy also charted highly in the UK, with Deeply Dippy reaching number one in 1992. Guitarist Rob Manzoli, drummer Ray Weston and guitarist Dan Kruse were part of the lineup during this early period.
The duo continued releasing albums in the following decades, including Sex and Travel, Smashing!, Fredhead, Stand Up, For Sale, Sexaholic and Exactly!, along with later singles such as Godsend in 2022. In 2017, Taylor Swift’s Look What You Made Me Do interpolated the chorus of I’m Too Sexy, crediting the Fairbrass brothers as co-writers. Right Said Fred remain active performers, available to book for festivals, corporate events and private parties.
