About ROMES
Biography / Discography
ROMES (stylized; regular form Romes) is a Canadian electronic rock duo from Toronto, Ontario, composed of brothers Jacob and Nicolas Bitove. The band’s name is interpreted as an acronym for Raw Overdriven Mind Expansion Systems. Originally formed in 2016 as a quartet alongside Irish members James Tebbitt and Andrew Keyes, the group became a duo in 2020. The brothers continue to develop their signature sound by blending electronic production with dynamic rock instrumentation, known for intricate synth-driven compositions, distinctive production approach, and collaborative work across music, sound design, and video game development.
Romes made their U.S. major festival debut at Austin City Limits Music Festival in October 2017 and subsequently toured extensively across North America. In 2017, Alternative Press selected them as one of their “Artists to Watch,” and they have supported notable acts including The Strokes, Silversun Pickups, The Warning, and Saint Asonia. Since becoming a duo, the band has released singles independently, including their self-produced EP My Demons Are My Best Friends (2021), featured by Rolling Stone Mexico. In 2024, the brothers were hired to score and produce multiple tracks for the video game Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 alongside composer Jack Wall, demonstrating their versatility beyond traditional music performance.
