About Sandra Kim
Biography / Discography
Sandra Caldarone, professionally known as Sandra Kim, is a Belgian pop singer born 15 October 1972 in Montegnée, near Liège. She is best known for becoming the youngest Eurovision Song Contest winner at age 13 in 1986 with her song “J’aime la vie” (I Love Life), a record she maintained until 2016.
Kim began performing music at age seven, influenced by her musical family background—her mother was a hairdresser and her father, an Italian immigrant from Chieti in the Abruzzo region, was an accordionist. Following her Eurovision victory in Bergen, Norway, she released her debut album “J’aime la vie” in 1986. She subsequently released albums across her career, including “Bien dans ma peau” (1988), “Balance tout” (1991), “Les Sixties” (1993), “Onvergetelijk” (1997), and “Make Up” (2011), which featured contributions from prominent Belgian songwriters and artists.
Beyond her recording career, Kim has remained active in Belgian entertainment. She won the first season of the Flemish version of The Masked Singer in 2020 and appeared as a guest celebrity judge on the Belgian reality series Drag Race Belgique in 2023. As of 2026, she continues to perform regularly with both unplugged and full-band concert engagements.
