About Secret Service
Biography / Discography
Secret Service is a Swedish pop and synthpop band formed in Stockholm in 1979 by Ola Håkansson (vocals), Tim Norell and Ulf Wahlberg (keyboards). The band initially performed as Ola+3, competing in the 1979 Melodifestivalen, before adopting the Secret Service name when they released their breakthrough single “Oh Susie (Bara vi två vet)” in 1980, which reached number one in Sweden and charted in 29 countries, with over one million units sold in Germany alone.
Following their initial success, Secret Service became known for pioneering electronic pop and Hi-NRG sounds in Scandinavia. “Ten O’Clock Postman” achieved top-five chart positions in Germany and Japan, while “Flash in the Night” (1981) and “Ye-Si-Ca” found success across continental Europe and South America. The band released studio albums including Cutting Corners (1982), Jupiter Sign (1984), and Aux Deux Magots (1987). In 1986, Ola Håkansson recorded the gold-certified single “The Way You Are” with former ABBA member Agnetha Fältskog.
Secret Service continued recording and performing with various vocalists in subsequent decades. The band released The Lost Box in 2012, featuring unreleased material from the 1980s and early 1990s, followed by the single “Secret Mission” in 2020 and a new album with original material in 2022.
