About Anberlin
Biography / Discography
Anberlin is an American alternative rock band formed in Winter Haven, Florida in 2002. The core lineup features lead vocalist Stephen Christian, guitarists Joseph Milligan and Christian McAlhaney, bassist Deon Rexroat, and drummer Nathan Young. Known for blending alternative rock with pop-influenced melodies and emo elements, Anberlin is best remembered for their 2008 hit ‘Feel Good Drag,’ which reached No. 1 on the Alternative Songs chart after nearly 30 weeks on the chart.
The band debuted with Blueprints for the Black Market (2003) on Tooth & Nail Records, followed by Never Take Friendship Personal (2005). Cities (2007) achieved their first Top 20 Billboard placement, while New Surrender (2008) peaked at No. 13 and spawned their breakthrough hit. Subsequent releases included Dark Is the Way, Light Is a Place (2010) and Vital (2012). After announcing their breakup in January 2014 and playing their final show in November 2014, the band reunited in October 2018.
Since reuniting, Anberlin has released new material including the EP Silverline (2022), the EP Convinced (2023), and the album Vega (2024). As of 2023, Stephen Christian took an indefinite touring hiatus, with Memphis May Fire’s Matty Mullins serving as live vocalist. The band remains available for festival and touring engagements.
