Biography / Discography
Queen is a British rock band formed in London in 1970 by Freddie Mercury (vocals, piano), Brian May (guitar, vocals), Roger Taylor (drums, vocals), and John Deacon (bass). The band pioneered a fusion of progressive rock, hard rock, heavy metal, and arena rock, becoming one of the most commercially successful acts in music history.
The group’s early albums, including Queen II (1974) and Sheer Heart Attack (1974), showcased their progressive rock foundations, while A Night at the Opera (1975) featured the cultural phenomenon “Bohemian Rhapsody”. By the 1980s, Queen had become stadium rock pioneers. “Another One Bites the Dust” from The Game (1980) became their most successful single, and their 1981 greatest hits compilation achieved unprecedented commercial success in the UK.
Queen returned to touring in 2005 with guest vocalist Paul Rodgers, and from 2012 onward with Adam Lambert, performing their extensive catalog to international audiences.
