About Rence
Biography / Discography
Rence (born Jackson Lawrence Hirsh on February 1, 1998) is an American singer, songwriter, and producer based in Los Angeles. He is known for his dynamic approach to pop music, which music writers have described as genre-disruptive for its ability to transcend traditional boundaries. Before signing with Epic Records in 2019, Rence spent several years building an independent career that garnered nearly seven million streams and earned recognition from Apple Music 1’s Zane Lowe.
Rence’s breakthrough at Epic Records came through his 2019 collaboration with Noah Cyrus on the single “Expensive,” which exceeded three million streams within months. His single “Baby Blue,” released in 2019, went on to accumulate over 38 million streams by August 2024. He has released four EPs—Nineteen (2017), Pink (2018), Fall 2019 (2019), and SINK OR SWIM (2024)—alongside numerous singles dating to 2017, demonstrating his willingness to experiment across multiple genres and styles.
Beyond his solo work, Rence has become a respected collaborator and songwriter, working with artists including Johnny Orlando, Benjamin Kheng, BLACKSWAN, NCT’s JAEHYUN, and former EXO member Lay across pop, K-pop, and country genres.
