About Suzi Quatro
Biography / Discography
Suzi Quatro (born Susan Kay Quatro, June 3, 1950) is an American rock, pop and glam rock singer, bass guitarist, songwriter and actress from Detroit, Michigan. One of the first female rock instrumentalists to achieve international stardom, Quatro built her career across music, television and film with a distinctive hard-rock edge and glam aesthetic throughout the 1970s and beyond.
Her breakthrough came with her self-titled debut album in 1973, which generated consecutive European and Australian number-one hits including “Can the Can” and “Devil Gate Drive.” She achieved widespread American recognition through her recurring role on the television series Happy Days, after which her 1978 duet “Stumblin’ In” with Chris Norman became her signature crossover success, reaching number four on the US Billboard Hot 100. Over the course of her recording career, Quatro has released 15 studio albums, 10 compilation albums and one live album, alongside appearances in television and film productions.
Quatro’s achievements include six Bravo Otto Awards between 1973 and 1980, an induction into the Michigan Rock and Roll Legends Hall of Fame in 2010, and estimated worldwide record sales exceeding 50 million.
