About Klaxons
Biography / Discography
Klaxons were an English rock band from London formed in 2005. The group consisted of Jamie Reynolds (bass and vocals), James Righton (keyboards and vocals), and Simon Taylor-Davies (guitar), with evolving drummer lineups throughout their career. Pioneering the New Rave movement, the band blended acid-rave, psychedelic, and progressive influences to create a distinctive sound that garnered critical attention from their early releases.
The band’s international breakthrough came with their 2007 debut album Myths of the Near Future, which debuted at number two on the UK Albums Chart and won the Nationwide Mercury Prize. Led by hit singles including “Golden Skans,” which peaked at number 7 on the UK Singles Chart, and “Magick,” the album established Klaxons as key figures in the New Rave scene and earned them Best Album at the 2008 NME Awards.
Following their acclaimed debut, Klaxons released Surfing the Void in 2010, followed by their final studio album Love Frequency in 2014. The band announced their last headline tour in October 2014 and entered an indefinite hiatus in 2015.
