About Bizarre Inc
Biography / Discography
Bizarre Inc were an English techno and house group formed in 1989 in Stafford. The group initially operated as a duo of DJs Dean Meredith and Mark Archer before expanding to a trio in 1990 with Andrew Meecham and Carl Turner. Active from 1989 to 1996, they became known for their successful blend of underground techno production with accessible dance-pop hooks, achieving crossover success on both club and mainstream charts.
The group released their debut album Technological on Blue Chip Records, followed by Energique in 1992, which established their commercial presence. “I’m Gonna Get You,” featuring Angie Brown, became their biggest hit, reaching number one on the US Hot Dance Club Play chart in 1993 and number 3 in the UK. Other notable singles included “Playing with Knives” (UK number 4), “Such a Feeling,” “Took My Love,” and “Love in Motion.” They released a final album, Surprise, in 1996 on Some Bizzare Records before disbanding.
After Bizarre Inc split, Meredith and Meecham continued working together as Chicken Lips, while Archer developed a parallel career as a producer and remixer under various aliases including Mr. Nex, O.P.D., and Xen Mantra. The group’s music remains influential in UK dance and electronic music, exemplifying the early 1990s era when underground techno crossed over into mainstream popularity.
