Captain Hollywood Project is a German eurodance music project formed in 1990 in Nuremberg by Tony Dawson-Harrison, an American music producer, rapper and dancer who performs under the stage name Captain Hollywood. Harrison conceived the project as a production vehicle, selecting different singers and musicians for each release while serving as executive producer and frontman. The project achieved major international success in the 1990s with a string of hits including ‘More and More,’ ‘Only with You,’ and ‘Flying High,’ which collectively charted in the European top 20 ten times.
The commercial breakthrough came with ‘More and More’ in 1992, which established Captain Hollywood Project as a leading eurodance act in a competitive European market defined by electronic production, high-energy rhythms, and pop-oriented hooks. Throughout the 1990s, the project maintained a touring presence across Europe and fostered a dedicated dance music fanbase. While initially marketed as Harrison’s solo vehicle, the live act from its inception featured an ensemble of backup singers, dancers, and musicians selected to complement recorded material.
Today, Captain Hollywood Project operates as a performance duo featuring Tony Dawson-Harrison and singer Shirin Amour, with additional support from backing musicians and dancers.
