About Masterboy & Beatrix Delgado
Biography / Discography
Beatrix Delgado, born Beatrice Obrecht on 21 June 1966 in Davos, Switzerland, is a Swiss eurodance vocalist best known as the distinctive voice of the German eurodance group Masterboy during the 1990s. She joined the project in 1993 under the stage name Trixi Delgado, replacing the group’s original vocalist after producers Enrico Zabler and Tommy Schleh began assembling a new line-up.
With Masterboy, Delgado performed on the group’s biggest international hits of the mid-1990s, including ‘I Got to Give It Up’ (1993), ‘Feel the Heat of the Night’ (1994), ‘Everybody Needs Somebody’ (1993), and the chart-topping album ‘Generation of Love’ (1995). Her husky, recognisable vocal tone became synonymous with the group’s infectious eurodance sound during their peak commercial period. The group achieved major continental success across Europe, with their records selling over 21 million copies during Delgado’s tenure. She remained the primary vocalist until 1996, when she departed to focus on personal priorities.
Following her departure from Masterboy, Delgado continued recording under the professional name Beatrix Delgado, most notably collaborating with producer Tommy Schleh on a series of dance tracks released under the Klubbingman project, including ‘Revolution (We Call It)’ and ‘Love Message’ (2005), ‘Ride on a White Train’ (2006), and ‘Never Stop This Feeling’ (2007). In 2013, Delgado reunited with Masterboy’s original founders for performances at 1990s revival festivals and events, bringing the group’s classic catalogue to new audiences.
