Armando Christian Pérez, known professionally as Pitbull, is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter from Miami. Born January 15, 1981, he is known by the stage names Pitbull, Mr. Worldwide, and Mr. 305, and is recognized for his work across Latin hip-hop, reggaeton, and mainstream pop music.
Pitbull began his career in the early 2000s, signing with TVT Records and releasing his debut album M.I.A.M.I. in 2004, followed by El Mariel (2006) and The Boatlift (2007). His mainstream breakthrough came with the 2009 album Pitbull Starring in Rebelution, which featured the hit singles ‘I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)’ and ‘Hotel Room Service,’ peaking at numbers two and eight respectively on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100.
After rebranding as a pop artist, Pitbull achieved major commercial success with his sixth and seventh albums, Planet Pit (2011) and Global Warming (2012).
