About Vulfpeck
Biography / Discography
Vulfpeck is an American funk-soul band and musical collective formed in Ann Arbor, Michigan in 2011 by bandleader and multi-instrumentalist Jack Stratton. The core lineup includes Theo Katzman, Woody Goss, and Joe Dart, alongside longtime musical partners Cory Wong, Antwaun Stanley, Joey Dosik, and Jacob Jeffries, plus a rotating cast of guest musicians. Known for tight, groove-driven funk arrangements, the band has built a reputation as one of contemporary funk’s most inventive live acts.
The group has released six studio albums, four extended plays, a compilation, and two live albums, all through its own independent record label. Vulfpeck drew widespread attention in 2014 for Sleepify, a silent album that exploited a loophole in Spotify’s royalty payout structure to fund a free admission tour for fans, an early and widely cited example of artists challenging streaming economics.
Vulfpeck became one of the first acts to sell out Madison Square Garden without a manager or record label backing, a 2019 performance later released as a live album. The band continued its recording career with the album MSG II, released in December 2025. Vulfpeck is available to book for festivals, corporate events, and private shows.
