About C+C Music Factory
Biography / Discography
C+C Music Factory is an American dance-pop and hip house group formed in 1989 by producers David Cole and Robert Clivillés in New York. The group achieved major commercial success throughout the early 1990s with five chart-dominating singles: “Gonna Make You Sweat (Everybody Dance Now)”, “Here We Go (Let’s Rock & Roll)”, “Things That Make You Go Hmmm…”, “Just a Touch of Love”, and “Keep It Comin’ (Dance Till You Can’t Dance No More)”.
The group earned 35 music industry awards including five Billboard Music Awards, five American Music Awards, and two MTV Video Music Awards. Billboard magazine named C+C Music Factory the 44th-most successful dance act of all time in December 2016. The band initially ceased recording in 1996 following the death of co-founder David Cole.
C+C Music Factory reformed in 2010 with producer Eric Kupper replacing Cole. Original member Freedom Williams, who sang lead vocals on their breakthrough hit “Gonna Make You Sweat”, acquired the trademark to the C+C Music Factory name in 2003 and continues to perform under the moniker.
