About E-Rotic
Biography / Discography
E-Rotic is a German Eurodance duo formed in 1994 by record producer David Brandes. The original lineup featured vocalist Lyane Leigh (Liane Hegemann) and rapper Richard Allen Smith (Ras-Ma-Taz). The group achieved commercial success in Europe with sexually-themed dance-pop singles including “Max Don’t Have Sex With Your Ex” (which peaked at number 45 on the UK chart and number 4 in the Netherlands), “Fred Come to Bed,” and “Sex on the Phone.”
Over the 1990s and early 2000s, E-Rotic released six studio albums—Sex Affairs (1995), The Power of Sex (1996), Sexual Madness (1997), Kiss Me (1999), and others—while Brandes remained the project’s core creative force and primary recording artist, working with various vocalists and rappers. The group became known for comic animated music videos on channels like VIVA Germany. Following the release of Cocktail E-Rotic in 2002, E-Rotic entered a lengthy hiatus that lasted until 2014.
Original vocalist Lyane Leigh announced the project’s return in December 2014 with new stage performers including rapper Stephen Appleton. In September 2024, E-Rotic released Level Up, their first studio album in over twenty years. The group also released The Hits, a compilation of their greatest tracks, in 2024. E-Rotic is available to book for festivals, corporate events, and private shows.
