About Kaleo
Biography / Discography
Kaleo is an Icelandic blues rock band formed in Mosfellsbær in 2012. The five-member ensemble comprises Jökull Júlíusson (lead vocals and rhythm guitar), Rubin Pollock (lead guitar), Daníel Kristjánsson (bass), Davíð Antonsson (drums), and Þorleifur Gaukur Davíðsson (harmonica). Influenced by Delta blues and classic American rock, the band is best known for their breakthrough international success with “Way Down We Go,” which reached number one on the Billboard Alternative Songs chart in 2016 and became certified double platinum in the United States.
The band released their self-titled debut album in 2013, which achieved gold status domestically with five number-one hits. Following a record deal with Atlantic Records in 2015, they relocated to Austin, Texas and released their second album “A/B” in 2016, which peaked at number 16 on the Billboard 200 and has sold over one million copies worldwide. The group received a Grammy Award nomination in 2017 for Best Rock Performance for “No Good.”
Kaleo’s discography includes the studio albums “A/B” (2016), “Surface Sounds” (2021), and “Mixed Emotions” (2025), plus their self-titled debut and a 2013 EP.
