About Snap!
Biography / Discography
Snap! is a German Eurodance group formed in 1989 by producers Michael Münzing and Luca Anzilotti. The group featured American vocalists including Turbo B, Penny Ford, Niki Haris, and Thea Austin and became renowned for their electronic dance hits that achieved platinum certification and topped charts across Europe and North America during the early 1990s.
Their debut album World Power (1990) achieved platinum status in Germany and gold internationally, driven by the hit “The Power,” which reached number 2 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. The group’s commercial peak came with their second album The Madman’s Return (1992), featuring “Rhythm Is a Dancer”—a track sampled from Newcleus’s “Automan”—which reached number 1 across multiple European countries and number 5 in the United States. A third album, Welcome to Tomorrow, followed in 1994, cementing their position as central figures in the Eurodance movement.
Snap! broke up in 1996 but reunited in 2000, though subsequent releases generated more limited commercial success. Recording rights transferred to BMG Rights Management in 2018. The group remains available to book for festivals, corporate events, and live performances.
