About E-Type
Biography / Discography
Bo Martin Erik Erikson, professionally known as E-Type, is a Swedish Eurodance musician, songwriter, and record producer. His stage name derives from the Jaguar E-Type sports car. Rising to prominence in the 1990s, E-Type became known for high-energy dance tracks featuring synthesizer-driven arrangements and infectious melodies that dominated club and radio charts across Scandinavia and internationally.
E-Type began his music career in the 1980s as a drummer in speed metal bands before transitioning to electronic music production. His commercial breakthrough arrived in 1994 with the album Made in Sweden, produced in collaboration with Cheiron Studios and the renowned producers Denniz PoP and Max Martin. The album generated multiple hit singles including Set the World on Fire and This Is the Way, establishing him as a major force in the Eurodance genre. His 1998 album Last Man Standing became his most successful commercial effort, with worldwide sales exceeding 3 million copies and achieving platinum status in Sweden and Finland.
Throughout his career, E-Type has frequently collaborated with vocalist Nana Hedin, whose voice appeared on more than half of his recorded output from the mid-1990s through 2004. He recorded the official song for the 2000 UEFA European Football Championship. His music has also found contemporary recognition through fitness choreography, with several tracks featured in Les Mills BodyPump classes globally.
In 2022, E-Type expanded his artistic range by founding the heavy metal band Dampf, where he serves as primary songwriter and vocalist. Available for bookings at festivals, corporate events, and live performances.
